When I get involved with each client, I stress the fact that they need to start their Email Marketing Campaign as soon as possible. Here’s why.
Your Website Visitor is Your Best Prospect: That person visiting your website has some interest in what you’re selling. They must. Otherwise, why would they be there, right? That means they are a qualified prospect. They are qualified ‘sales lead’. Just ask any veteran Sale Professional and they will tell you that no sale will ever occur until you have a qualified prospect. That’s exactly what your website visitor is.
You have No Other Way of Communicating: Think about it. There simply is no other method of communicating with that visitor unless you do it by e-mail. Understand that after they become a customer, you may certainly want to send them other information by mail or even talk with them on the phone, but to start, there is no other method of communication that you have available.
You Must Get Your Prospect to Know, Trust and Like you: Why don’t they purchase when they first visit your site? Well, ask yourself about your purchasing habits. Do you purchase the very first time you visit a new website? You probably do not. Your website visitor is just like that. They don’t purchase because they haven’t been given a chance to get to know, trust, and like you. If you’re not convinced, the internet is full of facts and data that prove almost 99% of first-time visitors leave a website without taking any action. You really don’t need me to tell you that. But that’s another reason why your list building and e-mail marketing is extremely important.
The Real Value of your Website is in the List: You’ve heard it countless times. The money is in the list. Why is that true? Because your list of prospects is your best, most highly targeted list of prospects you have in the world! It really is just that simple. Think about how successful direct marketing people operate. They start with a targeted list. If you don’t have a targeted list, that is, a list of people who are interested in what you’re selling, then who else are you going to sell to?
For those reasons, when I get involved in coaching a client, I always, without fail, encourage them to get their e-mail marketing campaign started as soon as their website goes live.
