Do You Re-purpose Your Content?

Do You Re-purpose Your Content?

Article marketing has become a very popular strategy for building backlinks, increasing search engine rankings, and providing lots of unique content for visitors. Most Internet marketers now use this strategy to promote their websites. This means you can no longer just write a few articles to generate lots of traffic because you are competing with thousands of other articles. One of the best ways to differentiate yourself from your competitors is to repurpose your articles. This means taking the content you’ve already written and repackaged it.

7 ways to repurpose your articles

1. Video marketing

Read your article in front of a video camera or convert it into a slideshow then upload it to video sharing websites such as YouTube. Videos often get faster search engine rankings than written content.

2. eBooks and short reports

Bundle several of your articles together to create a 10 to 15 page report or eBook then offer them as a free download for visitors to subscribe to your newsletter or sell the report from your website.

3. E course

Offer a tutorial or class by creating a series of articles on a specific topic. Load them into your autoresponder to send out one article per week. At the end of each article promote your product or service. Usually people don’t buy something from the first contact. Providing more in-depth information about your products increases your chances of making a purchase. This is because they’re more informed and have had time to think about their purchasing decision.

4. Audio marketing

Some people prefer to listen rather than read text. Simply read your article into your computer’s microphone and save it as an MP3 audio file. Offer the MP3 file as a download from your web page. This enables visitors to easily download your podcast to their iPods or MP3 players and listen to it on the go and/or at a more convenient time. You can also submit your podcasts to podcast directories to generate more traffic back to your website.

5. E-mail marketing

Use articles to provide content for a newsletter you can send out regularly. This helps build long term relationships with your subscribers. It’s a known fact that customers tend to purchase products from people they know, like and trust.

6. Press release

Press releases should have a human interest story associated with it to get distributed. Repurpose some of your articles into press releases and submit them to online press releases sites. It’s a great way to attract a ton of visitors to your website.

7. Article exchanges

Offer to exchange articles with other newsletter publishers so their subscribers benefit from your article and vice versa. This helps broaden your audience because you’re targeting readers you wouldn’t normally reach.

Every time you write an article use one or more of the methods above to extend it’s effectiveness. One article has the potential to attract hundreds of visitors by repurposing it.
